Here it is! Sadie’s compact mirror that is stolen by a pickpocket in Pittsburgh’s Union Station in an opening scene of Return To Me. The compact belonged to Sadie’s mother. I’ll have it on display at my book signing at the Penguin Bookshop. I love the wreath border and striped ribbing of this silver-plated little beauty that dates back to the Roaring Twenties – it’s even engraved with the first letter of Sadie’s mother’s name, Audrey.
Excerpt from Return To Me:
“Maybe it was one of many. Or maybe it held a story like the ribbon that had fallen from her hair and the hollow, empty look in her eyes. What had happened to her since they last saw each other, and who was the woman she’d become? He had to know.”
I LOVE this compact mirror! What a great idea to bring this to the signing!
Thanks, Julie! I found it on Etsy while editing and was able to alter my description to match 🙂
